Well, it doesn't get much simpler than this. I'm new to Photoshop, and I made it by using the "Creating Cool Footers" tutorial by Ben Watson aka B3Nkobe. What do you think?

Why should we join the cause and raise our collective voice?
"Squeaky wheel gets the grease."
"Crying baby gets milk first." (probably not from English..but heard from a friend)
Why should we _do anything more than writing on forums?
"Actions Speak Louder Than Words"
"All Bark And No Bite"
(hahaha.. that's what i am doing right now)
Why should we stop infighting?
"A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand."
"All In The Same Boat" (more or less)

According to CNN, America could be facing a nursing shortage that will worsen exponentially as the population grows older. The problem: Baby boomers are getting older and will require more care than ever, taxing an already strained nursing system.
Barry Pactor, international director of global health care for consulting company HCL International, agrees that more nurses should be trained within the U.S. system. But as a short term solution for this "huge shortage," he said the U.S. government should loosen immigration restrictions on foreign health care workers. "I don't see this as foreign nurses taking American jobs, because these are vacancies that already exist and cannot be [filled] by nurses currently in training," he said. "We'd be filling in the gaps until the training can catch up with the demand."

Hi All,
My I-94 expires in Oct, 2010 and my employer hasn't filed my GC. My 6 year stay expires on Feb, 2011 (don't know why I have oct, 2010 on my I-94)
My one extension has been filed. My question is:
Can I file another extension beyond oct, 2010 saying my 6 years on H1-B are not over (NO PERM or GC yet).
Thanks.

We also need to raise our voice for the Out of Status stuff.
Most of the consultants have one or more pay stub missing etc. There needs to be a amendment that more than 6 months so called out of status can also adjust their status by paying some fine or something because
1. Most of the employee are ignorant about this
2. and most employers take advantage of the situation and they are the ones who should be accountable and not the employees.

I am currently working for company A under H1B visa. Company B recently bought all of Company As Assets. I am still working for Company A (doing clean-up work) but will be laid off shortly (within a month). Company B offered me a similar position.
I read that since Company B bought all the assets and runs a similar business they would be considered as "successor of interest, therefore, we would not need to file a transfer with USCIS and a simple letter would be sufficient.
How does that work exactly? Can I travel with my old visa and the letter? What happens if later on Company A is dissolved? Cancel the visa?
I think that Company B is ready to sponsor me for the Green Card. Im not sure that they would be ready to pay for the fees for the transfer AND the green card now. I would really like to start the Green card process as soon as possible since it takes so long. I understand that it might be better to file a transfer to be on the safe side but if I can save some of the fees it would be great.
Thank you so much for your feedback.

From the AP: Saks Fifth Avenue and Oscar de la Renta are among the fashion industry players who are joining Mayor Michael Bloomberg's coalition for immigration reform and calling for an easier visa process for international workers. Bloomberg made the announcement Friday, the day after the close of the fall previews at New York Fashion Week. Brooks Brothers, Perry Ellis, Diane von Furstenberg and Malia Mills are also joining the group, which already claims as members chief executives of major corporations including Hewlett-Packard, Disney and News Corp. The Partnership for a New American Economy pushes for a path to legal...

I can't see any good reason why they would do that unless they have a system to allocate the applications to adjudicating staff by State or by Region. Do the Chinese cite any reasons why they feel that way?

I'm working on L1 & have H1 petition without COS.
Can my H1 employer apply for COS, so that I can change my status from L1 to H1 without visiting India?
Also, I've an offer from a third company... can this company file for Change of Status from L1 to H1 & transfer the H1? I've the H1 petition I129 number, but no paystubs on H1. I've paystubs on L1.
Can I transfer to H1 to this third company? Will I have to get my H1 stamped frmo INdia then join this third company?
If not, is there any other option?
Please reply. Help appreciated.

Some big compromises in the House version that dropped this morning. First, there will be $2525 in filing fees, $525 of which is due at the outset and $2000 of which is paid five years in to the ten year conditional non-immigrant period. That should presumably answer critics who complain that DREAM will add to the deficity. Also, conditional status is granted in two five year terms and the college education/military service requirements must be met in the first five year term in order to get the extension approved. Here is the new bill. HR6497

i485 rfe for my wife. Please help
My wife received an rfe for the things listed below. I think she got it because her finger prints are not machine readable and FBI have not been able to verify it....
1) Submit true certfied copies of any and all arresting officers reports....blah blah blah
2) Other: Local police clearance Letter from every place you have lived in united states
My wife has been in US close to five years and lived in 2 cities
MY question is
for 1) she has never violated any law so does not have court disposition or anything of that sort so does she need
anything for this?
for 2) She has resided in 2 cities but also stayed in India for 4 months.
The rfe clearly says "for every place lived in united states"
so I would think she does not need a police clearance certificate
from India
Please help we have till march 5th to reply this RFE

Hi,
I want to go outside of US and return back on December 8, 2010 while my passport expires on June 6, 2011. I will be entering on an advance parole document obtained as an I-485 applicant. As such at point of entry my passport will be expiring in less than 6 months (5 months 28 days). Please let me know if the passport needs to be valid for 6 months at the time of entry or this restriction does not apply to entry based on parole.
Thx

Over more than the last 30 years, Ive advised countless foreign businesses and investors seeking to establish operations in the United States. Many thrived, but some, regrettably, failed to survive. Often, the founders inattentiveness to the requirements of U.S. immigration law has been a primary cause of rough beginnings or failures to launch. This blog post will offer best immigration practices and identify traps to avoid when a foreign firm or individual plans to start a business in America. 1. Respect the Law Its Not a Game. The U.S. is no doubt the world leader when it comes to...
