In VA can we extend Driving License with receipt notice of h1 extension .

I check with one of the DMVs in VA and they are not ready to accept the receipt notice, instead they very clearly are expecting a 797 approval notice.
Let me know if you have any advice to handle this situation.

Can there be link for FAX for the guest members? I can get about 100 people to send fax. They are members of Indian community (many are citizens) and may not have time to make phone calls. But with simple provision to send fax at one time to all these senators, I am pretty sure I can get 100 people to send faxes.

First of all why do U wanna ask that? Its an employment based visa that ur GC is based on. So, ur employer shud ask that. Why are u asking IVans to do something which is not in their control??? The state chapters don't seem to be very effective.
I thought I was a member of the CA chapter but in the last few months I received no information from anybody in this chapter.
I was semi-active, meaning I helped with phone calls, money and prints and that's as much as I could do at this point in time.
And at some point there was a discussion about a new user group of only the people that are active and can contribute and it seems they went through with it.
I understand that some things might be better discussed in a smaller group with the people that can dedicate more time, but there are different levels of commitment and if you're not open and accept that some want to help but can't do as much as others, you're cutting yourself short.
When there is a big initiative or a push for funds and effort, you're not even reaching out to the bigger group; you're relying on the same small number of people and they too have limited resources and energy and will get tired.
Maybe I�m just having a bad day but that was my experience and CA is one of the most active chapters so maybe all is well I�m an isolated case.

This call was strictly for state chapter members of all states. IV core has been meeting DOS and USCIS regularly to find solution to the problems our members have been facing.
Pls take part in the call campaign and contribute funds to be able to find relief.

I PRECISLY UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SS, MEDICARE VERSUS TAXES.I was just mocking at the ridiculousness of your demands. Hey, if you think that the government agencies are treating legal immigrants badly and we are being "cheated and treated like retards", may be all of us should move to a country where the laws are more flexible, aah… like India. How often have you been on a forum in your home country lobbying for injustices being rendered to citizens, none probably. Just because we are in a country where there is a small chance for a group of people like ourselves in the IV have the privilege to have our voices heard does not mean we ask for the sun. Do you think in a economy like this with high gas prices, the war, and not to mention the ailing social security system and everything else asking the government to stop taking SS tax and Medicare from non- immigrant workers is going to fly, I DON’T THINK SO. So all I am saying is the issue is not SS or Medicare or entry date being the PD, but it is MORE IMMIGRANT VISA NUMBERS. I think we have lost our focus after the bill was shot down in the senate. We have just ONE demand if I am not mistaken, and I think the core team will agree with me on this and that is to ease retrogression by having more visa numbers in the pool for countries like India and China and that should be our only demand.
Although on first reading I was agreeing with the person who indicated that deducting SS and Medicare from non-immigrants does not make sense, lets look at it from another perspective... most of us would agree that more than 50 to 60% of non-immigrants or dual intent immigrants (read H1 visas for the purpose of this thread) are trying to obtain their permanent residency. Now, if the SS and Medicare are not deducted while you are on a H1B (boy, the employers would love this because as per law they have to match your deduction dollar for dollar) and you get your green card, you would be essentially starting with an empty kitty (i.e. the benefits that you would have accrued over the 9-10 years that it took you to get your GC are zero. Now, whose loss is that? I think, the better alternative would be the proposal by Sen. Kyle/Sen. Cornyn where they advocate that a temporary worker who has to go back will get the money when he leaves. If you don't and get your GC done, then the money goes into the SS/Medicare kitty and that way nobody loses.:)

My attorney is Stupid . She never gives any information and says it is the property of employer( Even LIN numbers)

I dont think one is necessarily doing kids a dis-service by electing to go back. On the contrary, kids experience tremendous personal growth through interaction with extended family which is not possible in a foreign land.
I come from a nuclear family in India and see no reason why my kid cannot develop into a good citizen the way my parents made sure I did..........
I learnt at a very young age that living with your cousins/uncles/aunts is not necessarily a guarantee of being close........ I am a lot closer to family I never lived with in the same city than I am to family who lived a few blocks from where we did.........
It is all in how the parents mold the environment for their kids. if we as parents fail in our duty towards our kids, does not matter where you live, we will do a great disservice to society..........
