What a dollar could do in US could not do anything in Europe/UK. But you can get to eat three times in India for a dollar. You can do two haircuts for a dollar and more...
With the above, India has many millionaries. Also if rupee strengthens and dollar weakens( which is not likely now), India will have billion millionaires.

Girish - CIR was meant to help the illegals not us folk. I hope we never have to see CIR again . It would just mean millions more ahead in line whereas we who have been waiting for years will be sent to the dustbin.:mad:

Hi,
I live in colorado...my H1B is going to expire Oct 27...I have not applied for H1B Extn. yet...But i have EAD...According to colorado DMV i should be able to use EAD for driving license extn...but does using EAD invalidates my H1B??...i am planning to apply for my H1B extn this week...but i won't be able to get approval in 3 weeks (assuming i do premium processing)...Please help me.

I will be leaving for DC in a couple of hours. Need to pack, get gas tank full, and decide what clothes to iron and ton of other mundane things. Thanks a lot to all those people who participated in this 401K round. If you found these shots, guns and jokes etc. amusing, thank you for your support. If you think it was silly, I appreciate you, for keeping those thoughts private.

3 reasons:
1. The work - when I came here the work I was interested in wasnt being done back home.
2. The work culture - working under most desi managers is a pain in the backside and really stifling for me.
3. Continuity - set up life here, got married, had my son. Its hard to just pull the plug and walk back.
GC is just the means, not the end.

Mine is filed on May 14th at Atlanta :-(. My employer told me that off late it's taking anywhere between 90 to 120 days.

please guys just write as many as you can...as i pm'ed pappu...my piece was touchy feely, because i wanted it that way. He suggested some additions to add contributions of immigrants/details of retrogression but I declined cos i felt the touchy feeliness (so to speak) would be diluted.

I can see how it will affect many people's (including mine) spouses job prospects.
Assuming it takes longer than 12 months, what are the options here? I would like to understand what AC21 says. Is having an EAD a precondition of using the AC21 provision i.e. does it say -
"an employee after 6 months of filing 485 AND having an EAD in hand can switch jobs"
or does it say
"6 months after filing 485, the employee can switch"

Seriously it is impossible to change anything with the back-dated 100k applications. The only thing that could be done is help the future immigrants in a much better fashion. The only solution I see is, apply this rule after 1/1/2006. By applying this rule to back-dated applications will only create more chaos. Why would anybody would want to change the line again, because it is a different situation now. I would'nt. If that is the case, then USCIS should withdraw all their approved out-of-line GCs during 2004, atleast the retrogression will not be this bad. The best idea would be to wait and see if the current bill makes it out to the president with all the amendments included. That should relieve some or most of the retrogression.

First of all, all of this is sheer assumptions. Secondly...oh forget it who cares...why waste OUR time on this blog at all?
Guyz...all I can say is...v have opened USCIS' eyes and they're determined to improve the process. Things will start happening ...Just wait N watch. Go watch a movie or something!!!
