I am confused with AP expiration date.
The printed exiration date is :July 29, 2009
But my latest paroled stamp on AP it is : Dec 05, 2009.
Which date should i follow to renew my AP?

Immediately, Senate Republicans went on the attack. Senator Charles Grassley(R-Iowa) did not hesitate to invoke the dreaded "A word": "This memo give credence to our concerns that the administration will go to great lengths to circumvent Congress and unilaterally execute a back door amnesty plan." Hi - I am currently on H1B visa with 3 more years to go and visa stamped for next 3 years. I've got offer for Medical residency and they offer J1 only.
I am planning to change my status to J1 effective July 01 2009. Do I need to go India for visa stamping or any other procedure? Is just change of status okay?
Please help if you know anything related to this procedure.

Hi friends
I am not sure if I am posting it in the right forum. So please excuse me if not. My cousin have some immigration case going on in San antonia, Texas court. She lives in California. Her court date is on 30th July in texas. I need help to find a good immigration lawyer for her. Could you guys please suggest me immgration lawyer (if possible Indian) there, so that I could contact asap. TIA.

For applying green card...you don't need any special work visa like h1b etc.. What you need is a sponsorship for your greencard under EB2/EB3 categories. You can research more on that in this forum and also at immigration.com website.

Hello everyone,
This question is for my wife. She is currently in her 5th year of H1 which expires in Oct-2011. i.e Her 5th year ends on Oct-2010. She is planning to quit her job now (Aug-2010) due to personal reasons and plans to switch to H4. Her employer (Company-A) has already filed for her GC and her LCA and I-140 is approved, but I believe they will be discontinued once she quits. So here are my questions -
1. Since she will have a little bit over 1 year remaining on her H1, can she file for H1 again if she get a new job offer?
2. Assuming that her next company (Company B), files for a GC within one year, Will there be a problem getting her H1B extended ? Since her new LCA (with Company-B) will be filed less than 365 days before her H1b expires.
3. OR Will USCIS look for the LCA filed by Company-A and grant her H1B extension?

I took the citizenship test, biometic now the second time .passed it 2 1/2 years ago . I was told the immigration did not have my filed . So Wait. Went to immirgation office 3 times. no result . Case under review ????? what is that mean????? Am confused ... No one can tell me what was going on . I have done no wrong. pay my taxes....

Hi,
I am on EB2+PERM. I got LC approved and currently filed for I-140 and 485.
As I understand unless the I-485 is pending for more than 180 days after the approval of I-140, I have to restart the whole process again with the new employer (expect that I can port PD if I want to).
Now are there any chance that if the above scenario happens, and my employer did not revoke I-140 or 485, that I can still receive my GC? Or that will be illegal? Please clarify.

Hello,
There are lots of articles/news around this issue, but so far these have been exceptions than rule ... I myself entered US through a completely different airport than where I'm employed (on H-1B) and didn't have any issue.

The AP document should say that you can be paroled until ABC date. That is the expiration of the AP.

Mine is EB2, Feb 2002. Still waiting. I was told that my NC is cleared.
3 SR, 2 letters to Ombudsman, letters to 3 senators, letters to 2 representatives, 2 fax to NSC, 2 letters to NSC Director, 1 infopass, numerous calls to NSC
Recently sent a letter to first lady. Looks like all of them are working together. Nobody wanted to respond.
Please feel free to write your experience if you are 2002 filer.

Family based green cards take a longish amount of time 5 yrs or so and your wife cannot enter US in that period. So if you plan to live with your wife in the US in the mean time here is an idea you can consider:
Give up your green card, then come back with H1 and your wife on H4 then reapply - you might get your green cards in 3-4 months because your 140 has an older priority date.

Hi - I am currently on an L1 blanket visa and it looks like my company will sell the unit I work for in the US. The parent company will sell the US division - I am currently in the process of applying for my GC - with the I40, and I485 both pending. I had my biometrics done today.
Want to gain some views on what my options are if the GC route does not pan out. I am on a UK passport, and would like to remain in the states. The GC is an employment based application - which is apparently quick, but I want to have a plan B. Is the next best option the H1B, and if so, will I be able to apply for this (if needs be) inside the US with another company if they are prepared to take me on?
